BYRON LEE, Band leader, musician, producer, writer, mixing engineer, publisher, record manufacturer, entrepreneur, conceptualize of Jamaica Carnival, astute businessman, given to him by his father from China, and his love for music from his Jamaican mother.
Winner of more than 150 awards including those which Byron says he treasures the most.

At age five he was playing the piano, but his love for football (soccer) broke him away from music temporarily.
In 1956 Byron’s team St. Georges, won all three trophies and at the Victory Celebrations Byron returns to his love and passion - Music, so the band was born - St. George slaying the Dragon and Ears for music Dragonaires.
No other band including the Rolling Stones has survived 50 years and still going strong. The man who has done so much for Caribbean Music says I am honored to have chosen a profession that brought joy and happiness not only to Caribbean people but to the entire world. I am proud to be a Caribbean man born in Jamaica quoted from The Famous Calypso singer Black Stalin.
Byron Lee is the man who brought to Jamaica Ska Uptown in 1964 and Soca Downtown in 1990 Celebrates 50 Years of Sweet Music with his band known as the Dragonaires. A world record for longevity.
